Get a little extra help…
On the first Monday of the month, in Newport Library from 10.30am-11.30am, get a little extra help using your tablet or smartphone, from the Halifax.
Alzheimer’s Society Drop-In Stand
Held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, and available for people with any type of dementia, their carers or families, the Alzheimer’s Society can signpost you to services in your local area.
Over 60s Group
If you’re over 60, interested in meeting new people, having a cup of tea and a good old chat? Come down to us every other Monday, 10.30am – 12.00pm, and don’t forget there’s the Health Walk on the Mondays we don’t meet. See noticeboard in Library for next dates.
Every Friday, from 10.00am – 10.30am and 2.00pm – 2.30pm, there is a rhymetime for babies of all ages! Come down, sing some rhymes, have fun and maybe make new friends too!
Every Saturday, from 10.30am – 11.00am, there is a storytime for young children.
On the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month, 3.30pm to 4.30pm, the Library holds a free LEGO club for children aged 5+. There’s no need to book, so just turn up! Squash will be provided. All LEGO gratefully recieved!
An untutored art group meets every Thursday from 9am – 12noon in Newport Library. Just come down, and start painting. Please use Orchard Street entrance.
Knit & Natter
Knit and natter is a regular knitting group held in the Lord Louis Library.
There is a free session on the first Wednesday, 2pm-3.30pm, and third Thursday, 5.45pm-7pm, of every month.
Bring along your latest project!

Newport Library Poets Corner
Do you enjoy Poetry? Would you like to join a group with like minded individuals and perhaps learn more about the poets themselves?
Come along the 1st Wednesday of every month 10 – 11 am, (subject to change).

The Library reading groups meet once a month at the library, usually the first Thursday of the month. Please ask at the counter or telephone for further details.
The Read Vitalise reading group is a facilitated reading group for people with experience of depression, anxiety and other common mental health problems. They meet every second Thursday of the month at the Library. Please ask at the Library for details.
Withdrawn library books and other stock are on sale near the Help Point in the adult lending library.
